Foodie Friday: Christmas Pie.

This is the first Christmas i haven't spent in Florida with my family.

The boy and i wanted to do something special and relaxing for the holiday so we decided to stay home all day and make a nice dinner while we danced, baked, listened to music and watched movies.

^ Our fancy salmon, mashed potatoes, and salad ^
It was the first time I've ever made a pumpkin pie and i had no idea what to do.
I found an easy enough recipe, and headed out to do my shopping

Low and behold, NO ONE had Pumpkin Spice, OR a vegetarian friendly pie crust. So, $20 later, i bought a graham cracker crust, and i made my own DARN Pumpkin Pie Spice, thanks to Joy The Baker.

^ boy Instagramming our snazzy pie!^

All and all it was a successful Christmas. It was my first one where i was joyful, thankful and content, and i shed not a single tear.
(Which for that last one, is a REAL Christmas miracle)

I sincerely hope you all had a nice holiday too.
Best Wishes
&
A happy Foodie Friday!

Foodie Friday: Milk and Cookies Bakery.

The boy and i LOVE cookies.
Well...we're not discriminatory, we love all SWEETS!

So when i saw a Groupon from Milk and Cookies Bakery in NYC i had to buy it!

This quaint gem of a bakery is hidden in an adorable little brown stone apartment 'complex' and is chock FULL of delicious treats!

We picked out 8 cookies and an 'oreo sandwich' cookie. 9 cookies!! craziness!

We rushed home, and broke up a bunch of cookies. While shipping orders that night, i found these amazing cookie monster patches...

The sugar rush made a dance party, photo party and a very hyper Jen happen.

The cookie monsters really enjoyed the cookies too!

So...what cookies did we buy?
  • chocolate chip
  • toffee chip
  • peanut butter
  • (2) mint chocolate chip
  • a salty oat nut
  • chocolate peanut butter
  • double chocolate

Oddly enough... chocolate chip and the Oreo sandwich have been my fav's so far. :)
Four days later and we still have two cookies left! HOORAY! We did AWESOME at 'rationing' this time around.

 HappyFriends!

The Week of an Artist! (part II)

A few weeks ago i posted my first 'segment' of "the week of an artist" and i'm here to bring you some more little tidbits of my Insta-gramed life. ;)

The last few weeks, as you read in the previous post have been filled with LOTS of drawing, custom orders, and working as hard as i can to make my Etsy shops as BEST as they can be!
(which is a EVERYday job!)

It's also my grandma's birthday today! The boy and i wished her a happy birthday by sending her this photo [along with a bunch of other ones] to her Walgreens for her to pick up.
[good freaking golly does she love 4x6 photos!!]

I wonder if i'll still be obsessed with photos when I'm in my 80's...

I hope you're all having a GREAT GREAT day!
smiles to you dear friends,
Jenipher

heart Instagram.

Have you tried Instagram yet?
It's one of most fun photo apps i've ever owned and played with.
I've connected with some really creative folks on there too.

AND the filters on there are SUPER swell!!
They make my nightly doodles even AWESOME-er.

Have a creative day!
Jenipher :)
